I wrote this for a talent party at a friend's house. I wanted to share my worry and frustration with the state of affairs.
lyrics
Was a rainy day, I thought I watch the news,
Get a dose of some envy and abuse.
Suddenly, I felt a jolt right in my mind,
Sarah Palin's telling me I'm in a bind.
On the mountain top, Georgy Baily's not.
All the angels are the CEOs above.
From the mountain top, everything looks rough.
What's been goin' 'round ain't comin' back around.
Remember those proud and glory days,
Two hundred years cast into the blaze.
Our own dreams would never know any bounds,
nostalgic and childish, I know how it sounds.
On the mountainside where the dreams will die,
All the interest rates won't ever turn the tide.
From the mountainside, no one will hear cries,
All is left to do is fall and roll and die.
As the pundits came and went, I was more confused,
All of that's nonsense and opposing point of views.
While the country's going right down in the drain,
the useless chatters are pounding on my brain.
On the mountain top, Georgy Baily's not.
All the angels are the CEOs above.
From the mountain top, everything looks rough.
What's been goin' 'round ain't comin' back around.
